
Portal 2 is still based on the Source engine, and uses similar principles when it comes to game files and running those files. It is NOT based on HL2, which means Valve built a new game from the ground up, and a lot of the things you may know about modding Portal are about to go down the drain. Whether you're new to Source engine modding, or have experience with older versions, it is different for Portal 2. It's a potentially mind-bending experience and the mod couldn't come at a better time as not only was it launched exactly ten years after the game was officially released, but Valve also announced earlier in the year that it had launched updates and bug fixes for the main game.Now, for those of you out there who want to create your own Portal 2 mod, this guide is for you. This means players will have to travel between different timelines, one in the present and one set twenty years in the future, in order to solve some of the puzzles, effectively thinking in four dimensions. The modification adds new content to the main game, but one thing in particular stands out is the implementation of a third portal.
